For the past 12 months, we’ve been on a mission—analysing thousands of UK brands, from disruptive startups to industry leaders, and gathering insights from over 10,000 employees and sustainability leaders nationwide. Our goal? To identify the companies leading the way toward a more sustainable future. These are the brands you’d tell your friends and family about.

For these companies, sustainability isn’t a separate initiative—it’s woven into the fabric of how they operate. It’s reshaping industries, redefining what business can be, and creating lasting impact at every level. What It Means to Be a Planet-First Company

The search for the UK’s most planet-conscious brands started with a simple question: How do you know if a company is truly committed to sustainability? It’s about a fundamental shift in how business is done.

To find the answer, Planet 100 took a deep dive into the businesses making the biggest impact. Rather than relying on external claims, we went straight to the people who experience sustainability from the inside—the employees.

We asked them:

  • Can you give a real-world example of when your company put the planet first?

  • Why do you personally feel connected to the impact your company is having?

  • How optimistic are you that your company will achieve its sustainability goals?

  • What makes your work feel meaningful to you?
     

We didn’t stop there. We also spoke to the leaders shaping these initiatives, challenging them to go beyond the usual sustainability messaging:

  • What innovations or strategies are you implementing to create lasting impact?

  • Can you share a moment where staying true to your values required tough decisions?

  • How do you ensure your employees feel personally connected to your sustainability mission?

By blending real employee insights with leadership vision, we uncovered the brands that are driving sustainability forward in measurable, impactful ways.
